We all want a better quality of life so we can enjoy things more, like going for hikes, bike riding, swimming, or even shopping. Our bodies were built to work, to go places, to move and be healthy, which is why it’s vital to stay active and do things you love. That can include working out, hiking, swimming, or playing ball. Whatever it is, stay active! Here are a few reasons why working out will work out for you!
Benefits of Being Healthy: When it comes to your overall health, your heart is at the center. When your heart is healthy, your whole body is able to do what it was designed to do. Here are some reasons why you should work out!
- Better Blood Pumping: When you work out your body, you work out your heart, which in turns makes your heart stronger and healthier. When your heart, which is a muscle, is stronger, it is more capable of pumping blood through your body, which helps you to move better and feel better.
- More Oxygen Through Your Veins: When it comes to your heart being healthier, your heart is able to pump more blood, which means more oxygen is pumping through your body. This helps with stress or high intensity activities, such as working out at the gym, running, or any other activity that gets your body moving.
- Good Cholesterol Beats the Bad: When you work out, your body creates an increase in HDL, which is considered a good cholesterol which actually helps to lower the risk of getting LDL, which is the bad cholesterol. Usually when you think of cholesterol, you think of heart disease, medical issues, and so on. But you need the HDL, good cholesterol, to beat the bad cholesterol, and exercise does just that!
- Heart Attack Preventative: When your heart is healthy and you have better blood flow, you can help prevent your arteries from clogging, which causes heart attacks. Think about it this way, when you’re healthy and active, your blood is pumping better, keeping clogs and fats out of places they’re not supposed to be, hence, preventing heart attacks and strokes.
What Types of Workouts Work for You: There are all different types of workouts out there, and all of them are great, but make sure you participate in the exercise that is best suited for your body type. If you over-exert yourself, then you could end up pushing yourself too hard. Moderation is key! So start with workouts such as cardio. Cardio can be considered several different things, such as jogging, walking, swimming, and so on. If your heart’s pumping, you’re doing cardio!
